Sovereign Education Ecosystem
A teacher's day. A student's next question.
Orbis brings together Kairos for teachers and Weave for students and researchers. Both start with the work of Tanzanian education, in Kiswahili and English, with local models and local ownership.
Inside the system
How Orbis works
Two workspaces for Tanzanian education, in Kiswahili and English. Kairos supports teachers with TIE-format lessons, NECTA-style assessment and classroom feedback. Weave supports students and researchers with academic sources, datasets, analysis and shareable work. Kairos runs offline after setup; Weave supports local models, with optional online tools and services.
Two workspaces, built around different work.
Preparing a lesson and investigating a research question need different tools. Kairos carries classroom preparation and assessment. Weave carries a project from sources and datasets to analysis, software and shareable artifacts.
Kairos
For teachers
Create TIE-format lesson plans, NECTA-style exams and marking schemes. Review written answers with confidence and feedback, prepare report comments and inspect class needs. USB and LAN sharing keep materials moving without internet.
- TIE-format lesson preparation
- NECTA-style papers and marking schemes
- Written-answer feedback and confidence
- Reports and class insights
Weave
For students and researchers
Projects hold datasets, hypotheses and memory shared across chats. Retrieve Tanzanian academic sources, run Python analysis, query datasets and build interactive charts, presentations, diagrams and software in a persistent workspace.
- Academic sources and project datasets
- Hypotheses and shared project memory
- Python analysis and interactive charts
- Presentations, diagrams and software
Work that can continue
Weave keeps plans, evidence and validation checks with substantial tasks. A resumed chat restores saved work and dataset context. Sources, academic-integrity checks and artifact verification stay part of the research process.
Local ownership, different deployment needs.
Kairos
Runs offline after setup on supported school computers, with a 4 GB minimum. Teachers can share materials over USB or a local network.
Weave
The desktop bundles local services and supports Ollama. Web search and external models need a connection; shared deployments require separate isolation and operational setup.
